Welcome! I’m Ashley,  Photographer and Owner here at Ashley Crocker Photography.
 

Someone once asked me why I wanted to be a photographer. I started this journey because I wanted to show people all of the beauty that surrounds us, the beauty you find in real-life moments, and in nature. I truly value the human experience and I allow that to inspire me.

My love of photography began when I was a child. It had something to do with a fisherprice camera, which lead to me saving my allowance and buying a real camera at 6 years old. I spent most of my youth with a camera in hand, and had countless rolls of film waiting to be developed. I was taking selfies before selfies were a thing. 

I believe in the power of community and enjoy volunteering my time, raising funds or food for local charities. I participated in the Front Steps Project during the first wave of covid and our first lockdown, after which one of my photos was selected and published in an international best-selling book. I have also raised money for women's shelters in Winnipeg.

I have been a professional photographer for the better part of the last 10 years. I graduated from Prairieview School of Photography (now Willis College) in 2012. In addition to my newborn + family photography, I have over 7 years of experience in corporate and commercial photography, and 9 years experience of photographing weddings.  Photographing newborns and families are where my heart feels the most joy, although I do also enjoy travelling across Canada and the US, taking photos of beautiful animals and landscapes. My favourite part of being a newborn photographer is we don't know who they are just yet. All that these tiny humans know is love, and there is something so incredibly pure about that. 
 

When not photographing treasured moments for my clients, I spend my time as a wife and a mother to my two littles. Together, we enjoy outdoor activities, travelling, and ofcourse, cheering on the Winnipeg Jets at every opportunity!
